Give something natural this Christmas
Natural Christmas gifts are the way forward these days! More and more people are looking to side-step disposable and plastic gifts, and what better way to show you care than natural products with a handmade touch? When I say handmade, that could be you or us, as the ingredients for many of the gifts shown below are available to buy separately! An additional benefit of adding the personal touch yourself is that it’s often less expensive! Here are some quick natural DIY gifts from bouquets to potpourri and lavender bags.
Natural Christmas gift ideas – Turn a bunch into a bouquet
Take any dried flower bunch and add ribbon, raffia or twine! This lavender sheaf was made by tying together a few lavender bunches with a festive red ribbon. Buy it ready-made or try it yourself.
- Or just add a simple bow to a single bunch – you can do this with literally any dried flower bunch. My favourites are Rhodanthe daisies in pink or white because they’re already very pretty without the need to arrange the stems.
Make a mixed bouquet
We’re currently offering DIY bundles of bunches at a discount, complete with twine. Why not use them to make a large gift bouquet. There are always a few off-cuts left over from a project like this, and there should be enough for a few extra posies!

Bags of handmade potpourri
Depending on how much effort you want to go to, you could either make DIY potpourri from scratch using natural ingredients and home fragrance oil, or buy a big bag of ours and split it between several gift bags.
- If you’re making DIY potpourri, the easiest one to make is Lavender potpourri made by adding a few drops of lavender essential oil to pretty blue lavender grains – this makes a 100% natural relaxing potpourri. If you want to try something a bit more adventurous, visit our blog at driedflowercraft.co.uk for tips.
- For a year-round floral potpourri, buy ready-made Elizabethan potpourri which we make with rose home fragrance oil.
- Or for something more Christmassy try our cinnamon and orange scented potpourri. If you like the idea of bagging this up into little organza bags for tree decorations or stocking fillers, we have a Christmas potpourri made with small pieces which is 100% natural with no added oils.
Lavender bags
The other thing you can put in little fabric bags is lavender! Try our really fragrant French dried lavender grains if you’re making your own – perhaps you have some fabric scraps at home, or do check out our empty fabric bag selection. Or just buy ours ready made, singly or in multi-packs. The bigger the pack size the better the price!
- If you want to try something a bit different, mix the lavender with hops or chamomile. Both have relaxing aromatherapy effects. See more aromatherapy shopping ideas with lavender.
