Pussy Willow is a Seasonal Dried Flower Bunch
Pussy Willow has the botanical name Salix Caprea. Willow likes damp places and it can often be found growing by a river. We love Salix for its pretty little furry bobbles all the way along the stem. They’re a great way to celebrate spring, but also will last months if treated with care.
UK grown Pussy Willow dried in Sussex
We have been drying UK grown Salix stems for years now and we always sell out! We don’t grow the stems ourselves but source them fresh from British growers. These flowers grow in the spring and are available to buy fresh in the UK between New Year and Easter, making them a seasonal commodity for spring.
Here are a couple of pics of what the fresh stems look like when they’re delivered to us:

Display your Salix stems
We supply the stems in bunches of ten which is enough for a modern minimalist seasonal dried flower display. Just put them in a narrow necked vase!
Other ways you could use these dried stems are as part of a mixed bouquet. The long thin nature makes them a good contrast to soft rounded florals. I think the neutral tones also make them a great foil for bright or pastel flowers.
Mixing fresh and dried flowers is becoming increasingly popular. So why not include dried pussy willow, which can be kept as a memento or re-used, in a fresh seasonal display?
