Buy dried foliage bunches of buxifolia. Each bunch is 40 to 50cm long and contains a handful of stems. This is a bunch of real Buxifolia, not artificial and is a plant resembling box hedging. This type of foliage has unbranched stems with tiny leaves which look like they have been stacked on top of each other. Each leaf is approx 1cm across. This preserved foliage is made by treating the fresh stems and leaves with a chemical preservative such as glycernine containing a colourant. The dried foliage leaves are moss green beneath their natural whitish coating, to make a great backgound for brightly coloured dried flowers.
This dried foliage may not be colourfast in damp conditions.
A note about coloured and preserved items: this is a chemical process and may leave a residual chemical smell which some people find unappealing. Most people are not aware of a smell and we find that any remaining scent often disperses after a few days out of the packaging. If you think you might be sensitive to the fragrance of these items, we recommend sticking to our wide range of natural dried flowers and natural grasses.
